HI everyone. Happy Wednesday!
I read in news few months back that The Vogue bans all underage models.Vogue has a new policy that the models they work with must be at least 16 years old. Editors in chief of About 19 vogue international issues have agreed to this new clause and most of fashion houses have nodded their heads in positivity towards the new policy of vogue. Though Marc Jacobs disagreed with this policy and hired under aged models from ford modelling agency for Fashion Week. .The claim is that many of those skinny teen girls are suffering from “Eating Disorder”! “Vogue believes that health of those teen girls is more important that skin show!.
Vogue Editors around the world want the magazines to reflect their commitment towards the well being of their models on one hand and on other hand proving it a socially responsible organization. Their strategy includes mentoring programs for underage models and better backstage conditions, specifically “more healthy food options” and a “respect for privacy.” Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her staff also encourage casting agents to “not to keep models unreasonably late” and ask designers “to consider the consequences of unrealistically small sample sizes of their clothing, which limits the range of women who can be photographed in their clothes!”
stay tuned and stay fashionable
